1969 Jaguar XKE Series II 2+2

This 1969 Jaguar XKE Series II 2+2 is finished in red over black vinyl and is powered by a 4.2-liter inline-six linked with a three-speed automatic transmission and a limited-slip differential. Equipment includes a louvered clamshell hood, four-wheel disc brakes, 15″ steel wheels, a wood-rimmed steering wheel, and a cassette stereo. This XKE 2+2 was acquired in 2024.

The car is finished in red and was repainted following the completion of body work some time ago. Exterior equipment includes a driver-side mirror, wraparound chrome bumpers, bright trim, a louvered clamshell hood, and dual exhaust outlets. Body filler is noted on the lower front fenders along with orange peel on the lower sides and paint checking on top of the rear quarter panels. The 2+2 cabin features seating surfaces upholstered in black vinyl along with a color-coordinated center console, door panels, and carpets. The car is equipped with a cassette stereo, and the seller notes that the air conditioning system, clock, horn, and some interior lights are inoperative.  The wood-rimmed steering wheel frames Smiths instrumentation including a 160-mph speedometer and a tachometer with a 5k-rpm redline as well as an analog clock and gauges for voltage, oil pressure, coolant temperature, and fuel level. The five-digit odometer shows 37k miles, which is not considered to be accurate. Total mileage is unknown. The brake warning light remains illuminated at all times. The 4.2-liter inline-six was factory equipped with dual Zenith-Stromberg carburetors and rated at 245 horsepower and 263 lb-ft of torque when new.  Power is routed to the rear wheels through a three-speed automatic transmission and a limited-slip differential. The seller notes fluid leaks from the oil pan, transmission pan, and steering rack.  The car is titled using VIN J69P1R42842BW, which utilizes the car number shown above along with the prefix “J69.”
